- Sewing zippers can appear harder than it actually is, and with my Zippers for Beginners sewing class, you’ll master the basics of sewing two types of zips in just one day!
- Learn to sew both a centered zipper and an exposed zipper, and come away with a new cushion cover and a lined purse.
- The zipper sewing techniques you’ll learn in this class will easily transfer to dressmaking and other types of sewing, so you’ll feel confident to take on more complex projects.
- This sewing class is suitable for beginners with basic sewing machine skills, such as demonstrated in my Beginners Sewing Class. This means you should be able to thread and adjust a sewing machine, use basic sewing patterns and create basic stitch finishes with your sewing machine.
How Payment Plans Work
I use a third party website, GoCardless, to manage payment plans for my sewing classes.
Simply fill in your details as requested, state how many payments you’d like your payment plan to be (there is a maximum of 2 for this sewing class) when prompted and pay your deposit. Your payment plan will be manually set up using the email address you provide and split into even payments.
Registering for a payment plan will automatically enrol you on the sewing class, and so the same cancellation policy applies.

You will also get a demo on how to replace a zipper on a pair of trousers or a jacket and I will be answering common questions about zippers, including what to do when your zipper isn’t the right size for your project.
In the morning, we’ll begin with the zipped purse where you’ll have the opportunity to practice sewing a zip before inserting your actual zip into the purse.
In the afternoon, we’ll begin with the demo on how to replace a zipper and then we’ll cut and sew our cushion covers, inserting the zip.
Spaces are limited to 7 participants per class to provide the ultimate learning experience
